Peter Beinart welcomes two important voices from the Islamic community. Daisy Khan, of the Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality & Equality, prompted a national dialogue on religious freedom when she and her husband proposed building a community center near Ground Zero, in 2009. Arsalan Iftikhar is a prominent media commentator and author of Islamic Pacifism: Global Muslims in the Post-Osama Era. Beinart, a prominent journalist and Graduate Center/CUNY Graduate School of Journalism faculty member, hosts this series of provocative discussions.
